On board accessibility
Access on board the ship
All the lifts on board both the Island Star and the Island Escape are large enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
Island Star
Has a curved gangway for guests in wheelchairs to board the ship.
All public areas on board are accessible to disabled passengers except the Pool and the kids pool, which have a small wall with steps across it to get into the Pools.
There is a disabled public toilet outside the Ocean Theatre and by the Pub and also behind the Mirage Bar and pool area.
Island Escape
Has a flat ramp for guests in wheelchairs to board the ship.
All public areas on board are accessible to disabled passengers, except the public toilets.
These have a step into them and the doors are heavy.
The only disabled toilets on board are those in the disabled cabins.
Bathrooms in disabled cabins
The bathrooms are approximately four times larger than those in standard cabins.
They have a ramp to the door rather than a step and have room to take the wheelchair to the toilet and washbasin.
The wheelchair can be wheeled directly into the shower, or on the Island Star there is a fold down stool with detachable showerhead and handrails in the bathroom, whilst on the Island Escape there is a strong folding chair with arms and shower taps at a low level.
Telephones / Emergency cords
(Star needs confiming)
The Island Escape disabled cabins have a cordless telephone as opposed to a standard cable phone.
There are also emergency cords in the cabins.

Our special needs helpline is available for you to organise such things as wheelchair and buggy assistance at the airport and assistance from the doctor on board.
