The beauty of Croatia

Firstly we visit the site if Salona, an ancient Roman settlement, which Archaeologists have excavated. We then leave the mainland via a bridge to a small island of Trogir. This small island is like an open-air museum where you really get an idea of how life was in past times. You have free time to explore the town for yourself, before the scenic drive back to the ship.

The Old town of Split is built around the spectacular Roman Palace, which dates back to the 4th century. Our walking tour of the old town also takes you to see the Temple of Jupiter and the cathedral, which is built on the remains of an ancient shrine, said to be the oldest in the world. After the walking tour, you are free to make a visit to the bustling and colourful open market - the largest on the coast, or take time to explore the city.
